Julio Marquez

Julio Marquez has 25+ years of experience in cross-border principal investments and M&A, having previously worked at institutions such as Global Emerging Markets Group (Managing Director), Violy Byorum & Partners (Director and Head of Analytics), Wasserstein Perella (Vice President-International), Citibank (Associate) and Morgan Stanley (Analyst). Julio regularly consults for leading international M&A institutions such as Perella Weinberg and Violy & Company. He is currently Managing Director for Latin America at Young America Capital, a NY-based broker-dealer.
Julio holds an MBA from Harvard Business School (1990), a master’s degree with honors in systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania (1985) and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1984). He holds FINRA licenses Series 7, 24, 27, 63, 82 and 99. He was born and raised in Mexico City and is a dual US-Mexico citizen.
Sheryl Schwartz

Ms. Schwartz is Managing Director, Investments. She serves as Caspian’s lead investment professional for primary and secondary fund investments and is a member of its Investment and Executive Committees. Ms. Schwartz joined Caspian in June 2013.
Prior to joining Caspian, Ms. Schwartz was a Managing Director at Perseus Finance in New York from June 2010 to April 2013, where she was one of the partners responsible for fundraising, sourcing, evaluating and making direct mezzanine and structured equity investments in connection with leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and growth financings in lower middle market companies. Prior to Perseus Finance, Ms. Schwartz had a longstanding career at Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA-CREF) from 1988 to 2010, where she spent approximately half of her time investing in alternative investments and half investing in fixed income investments. From 1997 to 2010, she was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager of TIAA-CREF’s Alternative Investment team. As such, she established TIAA-CREF as a significant investor in alternative investments with over $13 billion of initial commitments. .
Ms. Schwartz holds a BS in Finance and Management and a MBA in Finance from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
Catalina Bui

Catalina brings deep expertise in data analytics and banking to NYIIB. She is currently CEO of The Embassy, a blockchain firm that consults with clients all over the world in building and funding innovative data-driven systems in the finance, money transfer and cryptocurrency markets. In 2017, Catalina founded BlockX Advisory and served as its CEO. Previously, she was Vice President of Data Analytics at Bank of America Merchant Services and Director of Finance at First Data Corporation. Catalina holds a BA in banking and finance from Hofstra U. and an MBA from LIU.
Sara Haq

Sara is Founder & Principal of SH International LLC. SH International helps entrepreneurs build profitable multinational businesses, by providing training, guidance, and access to strategic and financial partnerships. She has extensive on-the-ground business and finance experience across Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. She is a sharp negotiator and takes pride in being both business savvy and street smart. She speaks French, Spanish, Arabic, Turkish, Hindi/Urdu, and native English.
Sara previously worked for the International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank Group. She studied Finance at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and is currently Entrepreneur in Residence at Wharton, and International Chair of the Wharton Club of DC. She also studied Organizational Leadership at Georgetown.
Clyte Nayigiziki

Clyte has 15+ years of experience in cross-border business development and finance and currently she is a partner at a boutique investment banking firm focused in emerging markets.
Clyte previously worked in Angola, Africa for 4 years at E.C.R.O. Empreendimentos, S.A.R.L. where she was in charge of International Business Development and the Finance and Accounting Department. Clyte received a degree in Financial Economics from Fisk University and she is fluent in Kinyarwanda.
Renita Kalhorn

Renita is passionate about human performance. As an executive coach, Juilliard-trained concert pianist and martial arts black belt with an MBA from INSEAD, she works with visionary leaders and their teams to perform on top of their game in building high-impact organizations.
Global Experience
Based in New York and Paris, Renita lived and worked in Europe and Japan for over a decade, and is fluent in Japanese. She’s delivered leadership and development programs in the US and Asia for Fortune 500 clients such as Deutsche Bank, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Time Warner, worked with individuals/teams at companies including Optimum Nutrition, Accenture, NASA, Goldman Sachs and Bloomberg, and delivered performance training for start-up communities at General Assembly, WeWork and NUMA. Renita also coaches Special Ops and Navy SEAL candidates in leadership and mental toughness.
Previously, Renita spent 15 years in management and business development roles, working side by side with entrepreneur CEOs at online healthcare, new media and technology companies.
Jon Stein

Jon Stein is a Vice President at Goldmark Advisors. He is experienced in providing transaction support for domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and raising capital through private placements. Jon specializes in the 3-D printing, VR/AR and consumer tech industries.
Prior to joining Goldmark, Jon worked directly for Goldmark’s affiliate Young America Capital (YAC) as a registered representative, and still consults for YAC. At Young America, he advised on capital raising for 3-D printing and health and wellness companies.
After college, Jon worked for NYMEX Capital, an investment bank specializing in cross-border buyside assignments. Jon played an integral role in Cosmic Forward Limited’s US$20 MM acquisition of Professional Diversity Network, a NASDAQ listed firm that provides job listings for diverse professionals and business networking for professional women. Jon holds a finance degree from Drake University and FINRA series 79 and 63 licenses.
Nadia Sanborn

Nadia is an accomplished professional in the areas of restructuring, bankruptcy and business transformation. She currently consults for major firms in complex international cases of arbitration and litigation by building and analyzing financial models and performing research regarding valuation primarily in the Energy, Infrastructure, Metals & Mining, Industrial and TMT sectors. Prior to her business activities she served as an intern in the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
Nadia is a graduate of the London School of Economics (Master's in Political Economy), Freie Unversitat Berlin (Poltiical Science) and Kyiv National Linguistic University (Law), she speaks five languages and has received a Volunteer Service Award from the NYC Mayor's Office.
Jay Tom

Jay Tom, Wisteria Court’s Managing Partner and Founder, began his investment banking career in Latin America in 1990, just at the end of the Latin American debt crisis and as companies and sovereigns from Latin America were once again able to raise capital internationally – pioneering the creation of the “Emerging Markets” asset class.
Prior to starting Wisteria Court, Jay was Managing Director & Head of Debt Capital Markets for Standard Bank, Africa’s largest bank with a focus on global emerging markets. Prior to Standard Bank, Jay was a Director for Merrill Lynch and a Vice President for Citibank in the Emerging Markets Corporate Finance Division. Jay holds a MBA in International Business and Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Jay is a CPA and holds Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
